Green Beauty — Making DIY Skincare with Organic Hemp Skincare

Fact Checked

Adding organic hemp oil to your skincare routine is a fantastic way to nourish and heal your skin. As the biggest organ in your body, it plays a vital role in protecting you from the outside world. But it's not just a physical barrier — your skin reflects your inner health and well-being.

When your skin’s smooth, radiant, and glowing, it boosts your self-confidence and makes you feel beautiful. But it can be challenging to maintain supple, smooth skin. Between harsh chemicals, environmental stressors, and the natural aging process, keeping your skin looking its best can be difficult.

Green Beauty — Making DIY Skincare with Organic Hemp Oil

That's why we're excited to share the power of organic hemp oil with you — this natural ingredient is packed with cannabinoids like CBD, antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals. It can promote healthy skin by reducing inflammation, balancing oil production, and improving skin texture.

Continue reading as we explore the benefits of DIY skincare with organic hemp oil and share some simple and effective recipes you can easily make at home.

How does organic hemp oil help my skin?

Organic hemp oil, also known as full-spectrum CBD oil, contains a wealth of nourishing compounds. The most well-known and studied of these substances are cannabidiol (CBD) and tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). However, there are over 120 types of cannabinoids, including the parent or precursor of CBD, cannabidiolic acid (CBDa).

In addition to cannabinoids, hemp oil is rich in healing substances like terpenes, flavonoids, and fatty acids.

Your skin contains cannabinoid receptors that are part of a complex signaling network called the endocannabinoid system (ECS). The ECS regulates multiple processes in your body, including skin health.

So applying organic hemp oil to your skin allows the cannabinoids and other compounds to interact with your ECS and support its functions.

However, not all organic hemp oil is made equal. Choosing an exceptional product to use on delicate, sensitive skin is crucial. Our Beyond Organic CBD hemp extract is a rich source of healing compounds preserved without additives, so you can be sure it’s safe and effective for your body and skin.

What are the benefits of hemp oil for the skin?

Research suggests that the substances in hemp oil can help with various skin conditions. These include:

Although acne is a common skin condition, that doesn’t make it any easier to live with. Not only is acne painful, but it can negatively impact your self-confidence.

However, organic hemp oil may help improve the condition. A 2014 study found that CBD could prevent an overproduction of sebum, an oily substance that protects the skin. Although sebum is important, if there’s too much, it can contribute to acne.

The authors of a 2016 review also noted that cannabis plants have antibacterial and antifungal properties. This could help combat the bacterial infections that underlie acne.

Furthermore, the CBD in hemp oil could benefit acne scars, according to a 2019 study.

Dryness and itching

CBD has anti-inflammatory properties, which could help with dry, itchy skin conditions like eczema, dermatitis, and psoriasis. CBD oil may help to relieve itching by reducing inflammation and calming the skin.

Itching is a significant problem in many skin conditions, perpetuating the cycle of inflammation and damage to the skin barrier. Soothing CBD may stop the cycle in its tracks.   It’s also rich in moisturizing fatty acids that help prevent moisture loss, keeping the skin hydrated and supple.

Aging and wrinkles

As you age, your skin shows signs of wear and tear, including wrinkles and fine lines. However, nature has provided us with a powerful ally in the fight against aging — organic hemp oil.

One of the primary contributors to the aging process is oxidative stress, which damages the skin cells, causing you to age faster. However, studies show that CBD has powerful antioxidant properties that can tackle the appearance of aging skin.

Recipes for DIY organic hemp oil skin products

Making your own skincare products at home using organic hemp oil is fun, creative, and, most importantly, keeps you in control. All too often, commercially available products have a long list of ingredients. Some are synthetic and processed, while others aren’t truly gentle enough for the skin, especially if it’s sensitive or prone to problems.

Going DIY with organic hemp oil ensures you're using only the best, most soothing components in your recipes. And you can experiment to see what works best for you!

But there’s more! Not only will you be treating your skin well, but you'll also be doing your part in protecting our beautiful planet. By making your own skincare products, you'll reduce waste and avoid the harmful chemicals in many commercial products.

Plus, you'll save money by skipping the expensive packaging and branding and instead focusing on what really matters — the revitalizing and healing properties of the ingredients.
